Women's 1.5 Day Fly Fishing Workshop

Learn to fly fish for women by women.  Join us for our first 1.5 Day Women’s Fly FIshing 101 Workshop in Rosman North Carolina.

Join us for our first 1.5 Day Women’s Fly Fishing 101 Workshop in Rosman North Carolina. United Women on the Fly and Headwaters Outfitters are teaming up to offer an incredible opportunity for classroom education, hands on practice and time on the water .

We’ve taken our Fly Fishing 101 course and extended it over 1.5 days. Day 1 will be an 8hr in person classroom session with a mix of indoor and outdoor instruction. The second day includes a 1/2 day guided trip on private water. This will help you become more confident and competent on the water .  Our goal with this workshop is to provide you with the knowledge and equipment to continue your fly fishing journey.  We want you to leave feeling more comfortable to be independent on the water.

  • Includes – 1.5 days of classroom instruction, guided fishing, 20% guide gratuity, fishing tackle and gear, course materials, and lunch during the classroom day.
  • Not Included –  fishing license, gratuities, travel, lodging, breakfast and dinners.

No Experience Necessary.  This workshop is geared towards someone who has never picked up a fly rod, has a minimal amount of experience or someone looking to solidify their basic knowledge.

Tuition Costs

The cost of the 1.5 Day Fly Fish Instruct Women’s Workshop is:

  • $750.00 with no lodging
  • $800.00 with camping reservation.
Camping Reservations are 5/11/12 – 5/15/22.  

Payments

A deposit of 50% is required to hold your spot. Final payment is due 45 days prior to the start of the workshop.  We accept checks and major credit cards.

All deposits have a 7 day cancellation policy for a full refund minus Eventbrite processing fees.  Deposits after 7 days and/or final payment will not be refunded unless a replacement is found.

Payment Methods – Check with no processing fees or Credit Card with all processing fees.

In an effort to make this 1.5 day workshop affordable to all, we are offering a camping option to all participants.

Heather Hodson (she/her) is founder of United Women on the Fly and lead instructor for Fly Fish Instruct.  She began teaching fly fishing in 2014 and has taught over 1,000 students both virtually and in person. 

Jessica Whitmire (she/her) is operations and marketing manager at Headwaters Outfitters Outdoor Adventures.

Hannah Myers (she/her) is a guide and Outdoor Shop Assistant Manager at Headwaters Outfitters.  Hannah was born and raised in Transylvania County.  She joined the team in 2016 and took on a leading role in the Retail Shop.
