Our Mission

At United Women on the Fly, our mission is to build a community that values connection, supports personal growth through engaging events, offers valuable resources, and promotes diversity and inclusion. We’re dedicated to empowering women in fly fishing and beyond, ensuring they find a welcoming space to learn, share, and thrive.

Core Values

United Women on the Fly core values consist of connecting anglers, continuing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) work, offering accessible education, not shaming and becoming a fly-fishing resource for anglers.
United Women on the Fly connects anglers via various social media platforms, community events, classes,  Facebook closed groups, UWOTF Website and Regional Mentors.

Over the past year, United Women on the Fly (UWOTF), has shifted from gender parity to celebrating diversity, working towards equitable outdoor opportunities, and practicing inclusion within the fly-fishing community.  This work is ongoing and never ending.  We aim to promote inclusivity through internal training/education and external engagement with our community.

We have hired Real Consulting, a black and indigenous women owned JEDI consulting company, for guidance throughout our journey.  In September 2020 we signed the “Angling for All” Pledge with Brown Folks Fishing.

UWOTF is committed to representation of all women throughout our social media platforms, website and events.  We are working to amplify the voices of underrepresented outdoors women by providing a space where their voice is heard and shared.  We are aligning ourselves with individuals, events and organizations with a DEI initiative.

No Shaming

Our goal is to create a supportive community for learning and connecting.  United Women on the Fly does not support shaming or bullying.  We choose to educate versus shame.

United Women on the Fly strives to be a fly-fishing resource for anglers. Our social media platforms provide links for education, outdoor and anti-racism conversations, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) work and information, women fly fishing groups, weekly virtual fly-fishing events, outdoor conversations, UWOTF news and so much more.  Follow us at @unitedwomenonthefly.
