My name is Laura Murph. My dad was in the Air Force so I moved a lot growing up. Luckily, my mom and dad loved the outdoors and instilled the same in me. I currently live in Reno, NV and work part/time as a speech therapist at a local hospital. I’ve lived in Reno for a long time and love all the outdoor activities that are available in the area. I used to be an avid skier, mountain biker, wind surfer, back packer and rock climber. I eventually gave it all up to become more focused on fly fishing.

I’ve been fishing since I was a young girl. I started fly fishing about 25 years ago and got serious about it 15 years ago after I joined a local women’s fly fishing club and met an amazing group of women- we’ve been fishing together for 15 years! I’m the co-founder of Sierra Fly Girls and look forward to continuing to grow this incredible community of women who share my passion for this sport that I love.
