How did you learn to fly fish?
I am still learning by getting out there and fishing with a variety of people. I’ve learned the most from Heather. She has mentored me the most.
How often Do You Fish?
Not as much as I’d like, probably about 10-12 times per year.

What’s one habit you have on the water that you think others could benefit from learning?
Having a positive mindset. It might sound hokey — but I believe the fish can feel vibrations just like humans can.

How do you see the future of fly fishing?
I see fly fishing growing in popularity especially moms & their children. According to a recent study by TakeMeFishing.org — Moms have been introducing their children to the sport of fishing at record rates since the pandemic began.

What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?
Most people are actually surprised that I fly fish! (giggle) True story though!
What’s the one piece of advice you would give to anyone who is new to the sport of fly fishing and is just starting out?
Hire a professional guide, take the UWOTF/Fly Fish Instruct online courses, and just start.
How has United Women on the Fly impacted your life/fly fishing community?
I’ve met a lot of great anglers along the way thanks to being part of UWOTF.
