UWOTF Team Feature - Erin Kimsey

Erin Kimsey

Erin grew up in northeastern Pennsylvania, learning to fish along the Delaware River with her dad. After graduating from Penn State, she moved to DC area. Her passion for the outdoors is what propelled her into learning how to fly fish.

Erin takes every opportunity to get into the woods or out on the water, enjoying the pursuit of trout and bass all over VA, MD, PA, NY, ME and a foray into saltwater in Tampa, and the brackish waters of the Chesapeake Bay.

I am an Outdoor Recreation Planner for federal hydropower projects. Through my work, as part of a comprehensive resource team, we evaluate the impacts of hydropower operations on resources. In my role, I help ensure recreational access to the lands and waters at the hydropower projects.

How has UWOTF Impacted your life/fly fishing community?

Getting to know women across the country, see their fishing outings, and taking away pointers from everyone has been incredible!

Dry fly, nymph, euro, streamer, soft hackle, etc and why?

I don’t discriminate, I just like to catch fish on whatever they will eat 🙂
