Why Go on a UWOTF HOsted Trip?
This is more than a fishing trip. Its’s a journey of growth, connection and sisterhood. UWOTF’s hosted adventures are designed to inspire, educate, and empower. From pre-trip resources like live Q&As and casting drills to hands-on guidance on the water, we’re here to help you grow as an angler and deepen your connection to the sport. But it doesn’t stop there.
These trips are rich with cultural experiences, shared meals, local traditions, and the kind of laughter that comes from stepping out of your comfort zone with supportive, like-minded women. We arrive as strangers, but leave as fly sisters, bonded by rivers, stories, and the strength of community.

Fishing Techniques
Fishing from a boat or walk and wade options.

Fish Equipment
All equipment is included. Bringing Your Own Gear? Here’s What We Recommend:
A 9′ 6-weight rod is ideal as your primary setup, with a 9′ 5-weight as a great secondary option. We don’t recommend 4-weights or lighter rods, as they struggle in the region’s often windy conditions. Be sure to bring high-quality reels with smooth, reliable drags, properly balanced to your rods, and spooled with ample backing to handle strong runs from Patagonia’s powerful trout.
Target Species
Brown Trout
Fishing Opportunities
The area between Junín de los Andes and Alumine in Northern Patagonia is the most prolific dry fly fishing region in the world. The variety and abundance of fishable water would allow you to fish a different location each day for more than 100 days. Dry fly fishing is available throughout the entire season, November through May.Spring Creek Lodge’s central location allows for easy access to northern Patagonia’s world-class trout waters.
Five of the region’s most famous rivers, several spring creeks, and pristine mountain lakes are all a short drive away. This region is a dry fly mecca.During your stay at Spring Creek Lodge or Casa de Campo Lodge you can also choose to experience 2 or 3 day floats that incorporate overnight camping at our Deluxe Riverside Camp. This option is available on several of the larger rivers that we float.

Education Opportunity
These trips are about more than just fishing. UWOTF’s hosted adventures are built around education, cultural connection, and community. Before the journey even begins, we offer a range of resources—live Q&A sessions, casting drill videos, and virtual courses—to help you feel confident and prepared.
Once you’re on the water, our expert hosts are there to fine-tune your cast, answer technique questions, and guide your growth as an angler. Each evening, we come together to reflect on the day, share what we’ve learned, and support each other’s progress—so everyone leaves a stronger, more skilled fly fisher.
Trip and Evacuation Insurance
Travel and Evacuation Insurance is highly recommended. We are excited to partner with Global Rescue to offer each angler travel and evacuation insurance. Sign-up HERE.
