Sarah Baird

Originally from New Mexico, Sarah grew up fishing the many small rivers and streams found throughout the northern mountain ranges in the Land of Enchantment. As she got older, her family would spend their summer vacations up in Montana and eventually, spending their entire vacation in Wyoming, a state much like New Mexico. Sarah’s love affair with Wyoming and everything it has to offer began in the Bighorn and Sierra Madre mountains. After a fortuitous camping trip down on the Encampment River in 2007, Sarah was offered a walk-and-wade guiding job with a small company called Streamside Adventures.

While in college, she would return to Encampment to guide every July and August. In 2012, Sarah relocated to Casper after her husband pursued a career in the oilfield but the thought of working again as a professional guide never really left her mind. After graduating with a Master’s degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Wyoming, she purchased a RO drift boat with the hope that she could become a float guide with one of the many outfitters in Casper. In 2018, Sarah started with the Ugly Bug Fly Shop and Crazy Rainbow Fly Fishing. She feels the most at home while she’s on the water and she strives to share her passion for the outdoors with each one of her clients.
