I’m sure I’m not the first to say that there was an instant connection meeting Geri Meyer owner of Athena & Artemis Women’s Fly Shop. Most gravitate to her sense of humor and genuine soul. This born and raised Washingtonian is incredibly driven, is a wealth of information and will still be cooking food for an event that started a half an hour ago. Oh did I mention she gives the best hugs? This is one fly girl that everyone should support and meet!
Geri’s fly fishing obsession started while vacationing in the blue mountains of Oregon in the mid 90’s. While living in northern New Mexico she met a fishy dude, they decided that they needed to move their family to the midwest and open a fly shop in The Driftless region of S.W. Wisconsin.
Geri and her husband have owned the Driftless Angler (driftlessangler.com) for 13 years, and she has been guiding SW Wisconsin’s spring creeks for 8 years.
In 2015 Geri opened Athena & Artemis Women’s Fly Shop (womensflyshop.com) so that women could have quality fly fishing apparel and gear all in one spot. Finding women’s fly fishing gear is as easy as going online, or you can find Geri and the A&A booth at many fly fishing trade shows during the off season.

Over the years Geri has been passionately committed to introducing as many women to the sport of fly fishing as she can. You can find her speaking about women in fly fishing at various T.U. meetings in the midwest, partnering with women’s fly fishing groups, teaching at women’s clinics, and volunteering her time with Casting For Recovery.
