Where are You From?

I was raised in Brackettville, a tiny town in Southwest Texas.  I’m currently residing Spokane, WA.

What is your role with UWOTF?

I primarily focus on the weekly and monthly Featured Fly Girl blogs, emails and social media posts.  I also do some other behind-the-scenes odds and ends.

Do you have a non fly fishing job?

Owner of Cowgirl Relics, a western online boutique specializing in vintage southwest jewelry, vintage western wear, and I have a line of my own handcrafted jewelry designed and manufactured in-house.

Through Cowgirl Relics, I created a line of handcrafted fly fishing jewelry that is exclusively available through Rods, Reels, and Heels. I am also owner of Caliche Road Creative, that allows me to be part-time photographer and small business social media marketing consultant.

Are you involved in other Women fly fishing groups?

Admin for Spokane Women on the Fly, primarily help manage the groups closed FB group and Instagram.  We’re a fly fishing group for women in the Inland Northwest specifically Spokane WA, Coeur d’ Alene Idaho and surrounding areas. We are affiliated with the Spokane Falls Trout Unlimited Chapter. We meet the first Tuesday of each month via Zoom.

I love the resources available through UWOTF, but, truly, it is the connections and relationships I have been able to make and foster that have greatly enriched my life.

How has UWOTF Impacted your life/fly fishing community?

Before I discovered Spokane Women on the Fly (SWOTF), shortly after it was brought to life by Heather, I did not know a single other woman who fly fished. Actually, the thought of fishing with a community of other women never even dawned on me!

I was also sometimes a little leery of other women due to some past life experiences. Since diving into SWOTF and United Women on the Fly (UWOTF), I have found some of my best friends and connected with other fishy women who I truly love and adore.

I love the resources available through UWOTF, but, truly, it is the connections and relationships I have been able to make and foster that have greatly enriched my life.

Dry fly, nymph, euro, streamer, soft hackle, etc and why?

I do love a good tug on a soft hackle or streamer, but have really been delving into Euro Nymphing over the last year or so and I am obsessed!…so currently, euro!

your most useless skill is?

I can play a mean game of corn hole, trash talk included.

My real-life superpower is?

My husband would say it is the fact that I out fish him on the regular.

My zombie apocalypse plan is?

Ride my horses to Snow Peak Cabin. Create a fort there and live off the land. “Mountain Men” will have nothing on me! 😉
